Featured Projects
Yakima Valley Aquatic Center
Yakima Valley, Washington // A stunning facility renovation—the new multi-level Waterplay Activity Tower transforms an outdated leisure pool into an invigorating attraction for community members of all energy levels. Creating a facility that promotes a healthy lifestyle through social engagement and physical activity was a goal of this renovation. WEKID was engaged to design and manufacture a custom, multi-level, nature themed activity tower. Installed over a lazy river, it included exciting elevations, spacious non-slip decks, fun slides, and multiple interactive play elements. The project also included on site installation assistance provided by our Engineering team. The result is a spectacular facility that delivers on its promise.
Banner Recreation and Marine Fundraiser
Kelowna, British Columbia // To say 2020 was a challenging year would be an understatement! When COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the annual Telus Ride for Dad in support of Prostate Cancer, Banner Recreation and Marine, a long-time local supporter of the event, reached out to WEKID to partner in an online fundraiser featuring custom, stainless steel fire sticks. WEKID and its partner company, Waterplay also promoted the fundraiser on social media and continues to look for ways to work together with local businesses in support of our community. Over $2600 was raised.
Metro Sports Facility
Christchurch, New Zealand // After a 2016 earthquake left an estimated $2 billion in damage in its wake, the city began a massive rebuild program which included the Metro Sports facility. Working together with our partner company, Waterplay, WEKID designed custom products and special footings to meet the customer’s unique needs and successfully secured one of the largest, single orders in the company’s history. Then the real challenge began - manufacturing and shipping such a massive, custom project within the committed timeframes and budget. Everything was going smoothly until the day before the shipment was to leave WEKID’s facility. It didn’t look like we were going to be able to get it into the containers! Our Logistics Team reviewed the options, measured the spaces, rearranged the packaging and came up with creative ways to fit everything in resulting in a significant savings to the customer and great kudos from those that received the shipment. We can’t wait to see how this one looks when it’s finished!
